I have a cross-country drive with two Siamese cats coming up. Last trip, I did DIY with a twine and a mesh curtain. It worked ok, except for when one of them jumped over the top of the curtain and jumped on my head!! So I have been looking to improve, for my 2016 Ford Fusion. I again tried the DIY route with PVC pipe and epoxy putty this time, to be more custom and total coverage. Well, lots of frustration and sweatiness and dissatisfaction later, I gave up and started searching for a manufactured one. And found this!It does not offer complete coverage...however, the cats are older now and less prone to misbehaving. Mostly. The top does not reach the ceiling, I would say there's about a six inch or so gap. The bottom reaches level to the bottom of the bucket seats, so there's just enough room for a blue-eyed skinny boy to slide through. Which one did. While on the highway. Surprise whiskers on the backs of your legs is not a good feeling at 65 mph. So I'll be stuffing blankets or something under the front seats. I can stick my arm through the sides through to halfway up my forearm, which I think is ok for these two beans. The buckle system actually works great! I was skeptical but it's better than expected. Simply put the buckle straps around the front seat head rests. There's plenty of strap length for adjustments there, and can slightly raise or lower the whole unit based on strap placement. So there's a little wiggle room!As many other reviews have stated, the zipper is backwards??? Like, the zipper pulls are on the cat side, not the human side. Kinda weird! But, if you gently nudge your finger through the point where the two zipper pulls meet, even on the human side, you can wiggle it open enough to unzip. I will be affixing a pull to the 'wrong' side of the zipper bodies. There are pockets that sit on the backside of the front seats. Great for calming spray, treats, puppy pads, or whatever. I do not recommend anything super heavy in them, though, because they seem very lightweight. There were 4 extra poles in the package that I can't figure out what to do with! So they will go in the garage with the rest of the "I don't know where that came from or what it's for but I'll save it just in case" stuff.I took a star off because of the backwards zipper. That seems like a design overlook, which could probably be easily corrected by the company. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised, and with the few modifications mentioned above, I think we will have a great trip!My dog got in the car put his paw on the top bar and broke it in half so I went and I got a steel rod put it through and now it works great the wooden one doesn’t work.I used this in my Chevy Trax to move 3 cats a long distance. This enabled me to put up a barrier so they could have some free room in the back. It worked better than I hoped. Even though it was a bit flimsy and they could have scratched through it, I was lucky because they didn't try. I picked this because of the zippered door in between the seats. This enabled me to reach back during breaks to scratch, feed, scoop the litter box, etc during a 30 hr drive and while sleeping in the car.The problem is that the zipper is backward facing to the back seat. If I was able to attach the barrier as intended with the straps I would not have been able to unzip from the front seat to tend the animals. I had to turn it around so I could use the zipper but then the only way I could secure it was to use bungy cords to strap it to the hanging straps above the doors. It all worked and was worth the money now that the move is over but I think it was poorly designed.Easy to install and overall did the job, and is fairly inexpensive. Not all the holes for the rods were sewn well, some were still closed. Hangs a bit low on some seats leaving too much space at the top for dogs to be able to get through if they wanted. Zipper for access panel was on the backside vs. the front seat side for driver sjd passenger to access.I really like this barrier. The sides cover most of the space at the head rests in a 2020 RAV4 which was my main concern. It works well for my 2 large dogs, they will poke their heads at the top and rest their chin but won't try to come through/over it. The fiberglass rods keep it upright and sturdy. Decently easy to assemble/install and the straps keep it in place very well.Everything was perfect about this item. I've tried many different ones and this is the only one that kept my dogs in the back seat. The only weird thing about this item is the zipper which should be facing the people side is actually on the doggie side. So the can unzip it?It kept my Border Collie out of my lap!A complete barrier kit, designed with a transparent mesh cover for easy visibility of the object ahead. This blanket helps separate the front and rear seats. The design comes with a compartment to make it easier and more organized to put small items.
